(Sold) Entanglement at the Stone House

Late in the 19th Century (1883-85) the CPR constructed a pump house dwelling to supply water from the CPR Lake to the steam engines in Suffield. Several different families lived there, the last family was John Scott in 1936. The walls are 14” thick, warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Department of National Defence took over the property known as the British Block, and the building became neglected and damaged during trials. The water supply turned alkali and many times during the 30s, the lake dried up. Today, it remains a historical site that will probably last for years, as it is well constructed, made entirely of stone.
