This artwork illustrates some of the edible, herbal and/or medicinal plants and trees found growing wild in Manitoba. Depicted here are birch trees, wild ginger, bunchberry, wood sorrel and wild strawberries. This varied edition hand-pulled 3-plate linocut print was created from my own designs I drew onto and then hand carved into pieces of linoleum. I then inked the carved lino, layered my handmade paper overtop and hand-pulled the combo through my roller press to transfer the ink from the carved lino onto the paper. This artwork is matted to 11x14" and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

“Horizon InThe Wind” expresses my love of repeating patterns and my need to both create order from chaos and make art that provides a peaceful and meditative experience, where I can lose myself in the creative process. This is one of a collective body of work called “In The Wind”, a series of visual artworks, along with an accompanying poem, that are based on a recurring dream I have where I rise from the ground and fly over land. The overall design is also a repeating pattern when printed in multiple panels alongside each other, or digitized. This artwork was created by hand printing my carved linocut onto ginwashi paper pretreated with acrylic inks. Relief printing is an ancient printing technique where the artist carves a design into a solid block of material, in this case linoleum. Once the design is complete, the block is inked with a roller. Paper is then placed over the block and hand rubbed or run through a press to transfer the inked design onto the paper. This original hand-pulled print is matted to 16x20" and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
Lightseekers is an optimistic piece, filled with the hope and promise that light in the dark offers us. Dragonfly symbolizes living life to the fullest through change brought about from self realization, the opening of ones eyes resulting in maturity and the understanding of the deeper meaning of life. They are also a sign of happiness, speed and purity in motion. Maple brings us the assurance of abundance in life, love, health and prosperity as she is the tree of offering with her unwavering generosity, balance, promise and practicality. Lightseekers is a mixed media varied edition linocut print. It was created by first transferring layers and patterns of varying acrylic colour onto paper using a gelliplate. The outline of leaves and dragonflies was then applied by inking the linocut design I created and hand carved, hand-printing this overtop the acrylic layers with a roll press, adding additional custom inking and a final coat of acrylic medium. This original hand-pulled print is matted to 11x14" and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
Elephants are integral to tropical forest bio-diversity and health as trees rely on animals to disburse their seeds, and elephant is ultimate at that. As gardener of the forest and a matriarchal society, feminine wisdom is rich in elephant’s world. Known for their altruistic and compassionate treatment of each other and the ability to communicate over vast distances, elephant connects us with universal law of oneness, opening us up to deeper caring for good and betterment of the whole and for future generations. This artwork was created by block printing with a linocut onto pre-treated paper. This original hand-pulled print is matted to 11x14" and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
The Sandbar Has No Last Call is an engaging abstract composition characterized by its rich texture and vibrant array of colors. Measuring 8" x 10", this piece is a mesmerizing interplay of acrylic and alcohol ink on paper skillfully layered to evoke depth and movement. Predominantly adorned in shades of blue, it features striking splashes of gold and metallic bronze that create a dynamic contrast. The meticulous technique of layering colors and textures results in an artwork that appears both dynamic and weathered. The small patches and speckles distributed throughout enhance the visual complexity, inviting viewers to uncover the nuanced details scattered across the paper. The uneven application of color contributes to an almost distressed effect, adding a sense of intrigue and depth to the overall composition. Inspired by the natural interplay of water and rocks, this one-pull mono print uniquely combines metallic bronze with various shades and tints of blue, complemented by earth and cool tones. The piece captures the essence of a natural scene through abstract artistry, offering a visually stimulating experience that draws viewers into its intricate and captivating world. Sold with a 8” x 10” white or black mat and backboard ready to fit your 11” x 14” frame of choice.
The artwork "Aurora Plains" is a striking abstract composition, measuring 26”x26”x1.5” and created with acrylic paint. This piece radiates vibrancy through its utilization of horizontal bands of color, meticulously crafted to evoke both depth and movement. The upper section captivates with shades of turquoise and teal, transitioning subtly between varying intensities and hues to create a sense of layered depth. A solid band of deep blue follows, grounding the composition and providing a stark yet complementary contrast. A narrow strip of cream-colored paint delicately intervenes, serving as a gentle divider before the eye is drawn to the artwork's lower half. Here, a bold, rusty red band introduces warmth and contrast, enriching the predominantly cool-toned palette. The interplay of colors and textures within each band forms a dynamic and engaging visual experience, inviting viewers to explore the intricate layers and the intuitive flow of the piece. Inspired by the awe-inspiring auroras observed in the Interlake region of Manitoba, the painting captures the essence of these natural light displays. Notably, the use of phosphorus paint in the sky section is a subtle nod to the northern lights, adding a unique element that enhances the artwork's authenticity and connection to its inspiration. The intuitive and multi-layered approach in the creation of "Aurora Plains" results in a compelling piece that beautifully merges natural phenomena with abstract expression.
