Deadline: February 26, 2021 Tuckamore Press is seeking applications for our Mini Print-by-Mail Publication Program. We wish to partner with artists from across Canada and internationally to publish fresh ideas through an innovative combination of online collaboration and socially distanced print-by-mail. We invite professional visual artists, regardless of printmaking experience, to apply. Overview Our print-by-mail publication program pairs artists with a professional printer to produce an edition of intaglio prints. We supply the plates, paper, expert printing, guidance, postage fees and promote your work on our website and through social media. In exchange, the artist and Tuckamore Press split the edition 50/50. All artists are welcome to apply; however, artists are responsible for supplying their own tools. While drypoint is the preferred means of platemaking, artists are welcome to use etching, aquatint or other means at their personal disposal. We are happy to provide technical and creative guidance along the way and to provide proofs as you develop your image. The artist is expected to dedicate the time needed to complete the work within two months of beginning the project. At the end of this period, Tuckamore Press will edition the print. The Publisher Tuckamore Press is a printmaking studio located in Port Moody, BC, that strives to connect the public with exciting art through finely crafted traditional printmaking. We offer classes by mail, custom printing of intaglio plates, collaborative print services, consulting, press maintenance and repair, and tools and supplies for artists. Chris Dunnett is the owner and printer at Tuckamore Press. With over a decade of experience in printmaking, Chris has worked across North America as a professional printer, educator and artist. How To Apply To apply, email info@tuckamorepress.com one PDF file containing the following: - Your name, postal address and email address - A brief (100 words or less) statement of intention - A brief (100 words or less) Artist statement - A link to your website or social media where we can see your work - Your CV The deadline to apply is Friday, February 26, 2021. Questions? Contact us at info@tuckamorepress.com if you have any questions about the program.
