There are many things to consider when shipping art abroad. Each country has its own requirements for temporary and permanent imports.

Prepare in advance to avoid unexpected travel delays! Make sure you have your paperwork in order ahead of time. Check out our tips on taking artwork over the border:

International Association of Art Card

The International Association of Art (IAA) is a non-governmental organization working in partnership with UNESCO, and they issue identity cards to professional artists.

This card allows free or discounted admission to many galleries and museums in countries around the world. The card is a tool for the lifelong education of artists in their professional artistic research.

IAA cards are available to CARFAC, RAAV, and CMAQ members ONLY, at the rate of $10.00.

L’Association Internationale des Arts Plastiques

L’Association Internationale des Arts Plastiques (AIAP) est une organisation non gouvernementale qui travaille en partenariat avec l’UNESCO et qui délivre aux artistes professionnels une carte nominative.

Cette carte permet l’entrée gratuite ou à prix réduit dans de nombreux musées et de nombreuses galeries du monde entier. Elle constitue un outil de formation continue des artistes dans leur recherche artistique professionnelle.

La carte de L’AIAP est accessible exclusivement aux membres de CARFAC, du RAAV et du Conseil des métiers d’art du Québec (CMAQ), au coût de 10 dollars.
