Winter Solstice Exhibition

Events, Art Shows and Exhibits

In the winter of 1994 and 1995, Paul Constable went out to the Winter Solstice Festival, then held at Prairieland Exhibition to prepare for a major art show. Even though it was -24C those evenings, he sketched with a pencil, with moose mitts on. A camera would have frozen up. He Walked across the parking lot with droves of people heading for the different venues, as they stopped to warm at fire barrels and buy a ‘candle in a cup’ to light the way. It was a magical event with kids sliding down the 2 big snow piles adorned by poles and white linen flying in the wind. The burning of the Christmas trees was a huge draw, as well as snow sculptures, hot chocolate and skating.

Please Join Paul Constable at The Eye Studio as he presents this festive showing. We look forward to an evening of casual conversations with you and your family. Works are for display only.
