The making of An open mind

During the sculpting process of “An open mind”, it became evident that the lack of eyes made it difficult to distinguish the gender, race and mood of this sculpture. Although some features are somewhat exaggerated, I decided not to correct the proportions as it created an ambiguous look. Individual parts of this sculpture suggest specific race attributes, but overall the features harmonize to create a warm and serene expression.

In “An open mind”, I attempted to showcase an equal being of no specific race or gender. It is carved from Sun Gold limestone.
