Originally from France, Patricia Leguen now lives in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. She has competed at over 120 national and international snow, ice, sand, and fire sculpture competitions and festivals since 1991 (in Canada, Norway, Italy, Russia, the United States, Greenland, the United Kingdom, China, Japan, France, Belgium, United Arab Emirates, Mexico, etc.). Patricia studied Fine Arts under Bill Epp at the University of Saskatchewan from 1979 to 1981 and at the École des Beaux-Arts in Nantes, France from 1982 to 1983. She also holds a Master's Degree in English, a Bachelor of Arts in French and a Bachelor of Education. She is a government accredited conference interpreter and a certified translator. She has been running her own translation and interpretation business since 1990. She was the first Canadian woman to compete at the international level in snow, ice, sand, and fire sculpture competitions.. She has won numerous prizes over the years, including :

- January 1999, 3rd place and bronze medal at the International Snow Sculpture Competition in Harbin, China. Title: Chief Poundmaker
- March 2000, Artist Choice Award and Bronze Medal, Abstract Category, at the World Ice Art Championships in Fairbanks, Alaska, Multi-Block Classic, 20 tons of ice. Title: Northern Sun
- July 2000, only Canadian invited at the first International Sand Sculpture Festival in the UK, in Glasgow, Scotland. Title: Athena
- September 2000, Award for Best Architecture and 2nd Public Choice at the World Sand Sculpture Championships in Harrison Hot Springs, BC, Canada. Title: East meets West.
