This work reflects on bees as pollinators along with forageable plants found growing wild in Manitoba, such as bur oak, wild licorice, and ground ivy. This varied edition hand-pulled linocut print was created from my own design drawn and carved into a piece of linoleum which I then inked to transfer the image onto paper I hand-made with recyclables and dried botanicals. 8x10" artwork matted to fit 11x14" standard frame (frame not included). When it came to being overwhelmed by an epidemic, regional differences melted in a feverish fog. The artist, who took her Covid shots and wore a mask in public, had avoided the disease but like so many around the world, was unable to fully escape the emotional malaise and the visions that went with it. The fog and the fever knew no regional differences, hence: “Shrooms” Shipping: $35

The discovery in 2021 of over 200 graves of stolen children who died at a residential school in Kamloops was a devastating shock to the artist, who reflected that shock and discovery in this painting. But it wasn’t just Kamloops: the graves of lost residential school children are being found all across Canada, wherever governments and churches conspired to steal children for “re-education”. There are no regional differences to that crime, hence: “Stolen” Shipping: $35

I work in found metal, from machinery and tools which was used in the settling of the prairies. These discarded pieces of iron carry all the natural aging you can only get by time under the prairie sky. They are now aesthetic objects resembling the natural world that surrounded all this human activity. The patina retains all the elements of hard work and the scars to prove it. The finish is cleaned and stabilized with a coating and varnished to protect it. Can be left outside or become a conversation piece in a home or office. Shipping: $50

The original Coat of Many Colours (eastern white pine) was completed on cradled panel (sold). Limited edition prints (7/10 - 10/10 ) are offered on Canson watercolour paper printed by Opus Printing based in Vancouver. This colour pencil, ink drawing is of an eastern white pine (inhabiting the area east of Lake Winnipeg), but this white pine is growing along a path near where I live in Vancouver. We also have western white pines growing in BC, but the bark of eastern white pine is just so much nicer than the western species.

A detailed look at Sitka spruce bark. Sitka spruce grows to almost 100 m tall along the wet coastal regions of British Columbia. The trunks are huge and covered with thick blankets of moss and lichens which effectively hide the bark . I find the best bark characteristic of the species comes from 35 -50-year-old trees in neighbors yards. This tree grows a few blocks from my home.

This work is protected by a custom-made, shadow box frame made from Canadian red oak from Ontario stained with a grey-brown tint. The drawing is protected by several layers of casein fixative and five layers of beeswax. Surface can be gently cleaned by a moist cloth. Stunning and unique drawing. Free Shipping

A beautiful polar bear pauses on his solitary journey in the arctic night. Does this intrepid bear sense something or is it just taking in the moment?
A monochromatic oil painting in blue - with the exception of the blue black nose, claws and golden brown eyes.
Blue symbolizes intelligence, nature, royalty, spirit. It is one of the world's most popular colours, just as this magnificent bear, is one of the world's most favourite animals.
Blue represents nature, we see it in water, whether liquid, snow or ice, and the sky. But blue also symbolizes intelligence, confidence, stability, faith, and truth.
What better colour to represent the polar bear, the highly intelligent apex predator of the north, one in which the stability of our climate and our facing the truth that we must take action, is so dependant upon.
This original oil painting is on wood panel. The sides of the panel are painted black. The back is wired and ready for hanging. It has signed by the artist and has a unique work completion number.

Polar bears and flower crowns - two of my favourite things in life. Painted in tribute, celebration and hope. The polar bear is a marine mammal but it is the frozen sea on which it is dependant for hunting, mating and travel. In the spring , when the sea ice breaks up, thanks to our warm climate, the polar bear faces months without its necessary diet of the ringed seal. To survive, it must have had a successful winter hunting. It is a spring hero for the challenges it faces and the successes of the past.

I had a bit of fun painting this polar bear portrait. Farmhouse chic was popular and I challenged myself to create the polar bear painting that would go with vintage farmhouse decor because original art and polar bear art really does go with any decor. So this polar bear has a flower crown, some areas that are "worn" (symbolizing the bear's vulnerability) and plenty of white, black, and orange pinky colours.
This painting has a unique wic (work is completed) number and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. The sides of the panel are painted black and it is wired ready for hanging.
