Jammin'

Jammin'

Jamming is an improvisation of practice; a trust in your ability to solve the puzzle creatively. In music you must be able to listen and connect with others in order to discover that unique blend of sound made up from the individuals in that moment. It is a practiced ability to be spontaneous which can be found in all Art forms, and which I also strive for in my own work. This piece has a white archival matte and has a black wooden frame with glass.

The artwork depicts a bright red ant tunnel that crosses through 20 differently colored painted squares. Many of the designs within the squares were made using various mark-making items, such as string, large and small hollow pen tubes, braided furniture trim, eraser edges and bubble wrap for example. In each square, our hero the ant, interacts with the shape created by that portion of its' tunnel. The Calm Ant Th(red) is a play on words on The Common Thread.
