ARTIST STATEMENT:
Originally from Montreal,Quebec after working for some time in the banking industry, I decided to pursue my life-long passion for design and colour. Following completion of the Fine Arts Certificate program in 2010 at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario, I began to explore various painting techniques, specializing in acrylic palette knife art and also including brush work and drip art in the expressionism style. Since 2011 I have worked and sold through my Cobourg,Ontario home studio. I do not plan my pieces in advance as I let my mood and instincts direct my colour palette and composition. I have been known to add marks and strokes to pieces as I do enjoy the playful side to art. My colour palette is usually vivid contrasting colour. Inspiration comes from many expressionist artists, such as Hans Hoffman, Joan Mitchell, Helen Frankenthaler, Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner to name a few. My work has been accepted into many juried gallery shows, and I donate to worthy charities regularly. My paintings are held in private collections in Canada, London, Amsterdam, Boston and New York.
