Camille Paget grew up in Collingwood Ontario and is currently located in Toronto. After graduating from OCAD University and receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts Camille pursued studies with DONA International, specializing in the role of a birth doula. The convergence of her knowledge of the female anatomy and her background in ballet informs her artistic endeavors, yielding figurative works characterized by representational depth.
Her preferred artistic media include acrylic paint and oil pastel. Noteworthy is Camille's penchant for challenging conventional norms, as evidenced by her incorporation of unconventional materials such as hair, blood, leaves, flowers, and seeds into select pieces. By evoking a provocative engagement with her audience she asks us to question our relationship to the inner and outer form. Central to Camille's artistic philosophy is an emphasis on process.
Grounded in the realms of movement, breath work, and tactile exploration, her creative methodology emanates from a spiritual foundation of freedom and trust. This intimate connection with her own physicality forms the bedrock of her artistic expression, and stems from a past of disconnection with self. Camille's practice advocates for the therapeutic potential inherent in the healing attributes of the arts.
Spanning a diverse range of mediums, including drawings, paintings, poetry, and performance art, Camille's thematic repertoire consistently explores the nuanced interplay of windows, seasons, inner and outer form, death, and rebirth. Her work stands as a testament to an academic background harmoniously interwoven with a spiritual and introspective creative process. Currently, Camille accepts commissions, offers private classes, and dedicates herself to ongoing studies and artistic practice.
