I have been a professional artist for almost seventy years. Over those years, my style and subject matter has reflected and adapted to my life experiences. When I was very young, I was interested in the surreal and metaphysical. Later nudes and lovely female studies. When I became a parent, my inspiration turned to mother and child images. My wife and children were the subjects of my themes. Landscape inspiration abounded in Canada, with no shortage of beauty, just as it was. Eventually, I grew into the style and subject that I became well known for in Canada, the US, and farther. I called my style etherialism. My landscapes evolved into geometric forms, often abstracted while still retaining the realisism that I love.
My process has always been classical techniques. Oil in canvas is my usual medium, though I loved pastels, and somtimes use acrylics. Fine detail and smooth brush strokes are the way I like to paint. Creating beauty and visual poetry have always been what keeps me interested in a long life of art.
