Paint Ontario 2020 was a huge success – many talented artists submitted paintings to the show and sale. There are over $7,500 in prizes. Last year the show attracted a record number of visitors from all over Southern Ontario and beyond. There were record sales. Everyone was amazed and delighted with the beauty of the art that you, our artists, created.

Opening Night for the show is Friday May 7 and the show will run during regular museum hours up to Sunday May 30. With more than $7,500 in prizes and sales of more than $100,000, this is the show to enter!

Paint Ontario is an opportunity to sell both your artwork and yourself as an artist. Visitors to Paint Ontario come from all over South-Western Ontario. Many of our artists have gone on to do commission and referred work based on their Paint Ontario showings at the Lambton Heritage Museum. Don’t forget to send us an Artist Bio – see below.

Paint Ontario has shows within the show, the Faces, Places and Sculpture of Ontario, and has workshops by artists for artists. The Places of Ontario show features original artwork that bring to life the beauty, character and diversity of Ontario – our home. The Faces of Ontario show features original paintings that depict the faces and convey the story of one or two people in an Ontario theme. The Sculpture of Ontario show features works reminiscent of life in Ontario.
Three Juried Categories

Places of Ontario is a juried competition for “representational” art, We seek paintings that depict the diversity of the Ontario landscape, architecture, flora and fauna, waterscapes, and urbanscapes. This is the default entry for the show.
Faces of Ontario showcases juried portrait style paintings that realistically depict people. The focus is on the face however a Paint Ontario setting or context is an asset.
Sculpture is a pilot project for 2021 and stands as a separate awards category in addition to those already established. Submissions are sought in five sub categories: metal, wood, glass, clay and mixed media.
