This new series, a Technique Taster of Stitches, will introduce participants to embroidery stitches from the various regions of Ukraine. There will be one series offered each program term over the next two years. In each series, participants will complete a small project using stitches from a specific region. Participants can register in one or a combination of workshops in the series. These workshops are suitable for all skill levels. In this first series, the instructor will teach stitches and techniques commonly found in the Whitework from the Poltava region. Participants will learn satin, herringbone, long arm and cross stitches, along with the eyelet technique. Participants will practice these stitches in three classes over a three-week period, completing a needle case.
