The making of Quiet space

The limits of my solitude can not be defined or measured by the outside word. My quiet space may be interpreted as social abandonment where I am constricted and suppressed. In contrary, it is within the stone walls of my solitude where I am able to expand my mind and re-examine the limits of my emotions. Within my cherished solitude I become aware of what I am and what others mean to me.

I tried to achieve balance between the exterior form and inner movement of “Quiet Space.” It is during the process of direct sculpture where the natural essence of a swan come to be. The swan appears calm and safe although there are areas that are withdrawn, rigid and agitated. The swan is harmonious, but for how long?
