Maurice Dionne

Maurice Dionne is a full-time artist in Ottawa.  He is passionate about nature as well as the energy of cityscapes.  Like most of us over the past two years, he has stayed closer to home and explored the many hidden gems in Ottawa. His Series “Interpretations of Ottawa” showcases some of his recent work. His technical training is evident in the precision with which he renders architectural shapes. His creativity shines through in his delicate handling of details, and especially in his selection of colours, adding a pleasant liveliness to familiar landscapes. He also presents his watercolours in a contemporary fashion. Mounting and framing techniques remove the glass barrier and allows for a more intimate experience for viewers.
 "As an artist living in Ottawa, I've been extremely fortunate in the past few years, discovering many truly remarkable places.  I search for that spark that attracts me to a subject.  With that, I attempt to capture that feeling, mood, movement.  When I lose track of time, I know I am on the right path."
