Patricia’s explores landscape from the perspective of a passenger in a car.
Her many road trip adventures all over Canada inspired her to re-creating the experience with oil on canvas. Using a sketchbook and cameras, Morris captures images and impressions en route, and develops compositions and paintings in her studio.
Patricia has over 35 years of exhibition history, which began with sculpture, drawing and installation exhibitions in Montreal and the Maritime Provinces. Following a move to Kingston Ontario in 1990, she exhibited abstract drawings and paintings in Ottawa, Kingston and Toronto. She currently resides in Pointe-Claire, Quebec and continues to exhibit in central and eastern Canada.
Patricia’s teaching career began in the Continuing Education and Fine Art Departments of Mount Allison University where she taught drawing and sculpture. She taught Art and Photography at the Secondary level in Kingston, and at Miss Edgar’s and Miss Cramp’s School for Girls in Montreal. Patricia currently works as a professional artist and full time caregiver for her mother. Patricia Morris is an award-winning artist with works in major Canadian collections.
