Painting, Mixed Media, Abstract
Isabelle Vézina was born in1970 in Québec. Since her early age, she had a passion for arts and was very creative. She graduated in fashion design and interior design. These classes allowed her to study the different perspectives, silhouettes and colors. It is only later in her life that she discovered painting and fell in love with it immediately. She started painting with oil but she switched rapidly to acrylic which fitted more with her style. Her self-taught skills led her to many avenues. She works with texture and colors to give a third dimension to her paintings and make her style unique. When she is working, she likes to use trowels, spatulas and big canvas and makes large gestures, channelling her emotions… In her paintings, she often adds materials like fabrics, cardboard or pictures form magazines. She explores every possibility, hoping to create unique painting that will stand out throughout time. The artist is mainly doing figurative art but she can also go in the abstract if she feels like it. She describes her art as impulsive and spontaneous, using painting to convey what is hidden deep down inside of her without following any rules or limiting herself. Who knows where her quest for novelty might lead her?
