My role as an artist is to convey the ordinary in a unique and captivating way. My art invites the viewer to explore new places or objects and experience familiar ones differently. Focusing on the light and colour, like the Impressionists, I paint landscapes with expressive marks using vivid colours. My goal is to inspire a holistic connection with nature and help people pause and encounter the world fully. My current subject matter is the Boreal forest and Canadian shield in Northern Saskatchewan.
Although I am a second career emerging artist, I have been drawing and painting ever since I could remember. One of my earliest memories is secretly creating a mural with Mum’s luscious red lipstick. Attracted to bright colours, I often say that my favourite colour is “rainbow.” Born and raised in Saskatchewan, I have lived all over North America and travel overseas frequently. A frequent visitor to Northern Saskatchewan, I spend much time exploring the beauty of the Boreal Forest and Canadian Shield. When not making art, I work as a civil engineer.
