Marlaina was raised in a rural setting near a small town in Alberta, Canada. From an early age she loved to draw, and from an early age a lot of her drawings were considered "weird". She taught herself how to paint, using acrylics, after a local bar commissioned her to paint every individual ceiling tile in their establishment. From there, she developed the skill, continues to improve and self-educate, has gained amazing supporters and clients, and often uses art as a therapy tool for anxiety, depression, PMDD and BPD. Her favorite things to create are galaxies, tentacles, and "nerdy" things. She often uses non-conventional objects as her canvases, such as scratched vinyl records, glass bottles, and animal skulls. Her art has been featured in magazines, on billboards, on television, and in newspapers.
