Textiles
South American born Textile Artist. Makes tapestries, baskets, textile sculptures and mixed media works. Over the past 15 years after immigrating to Canada in 1996, she has exhibited in several different venues across North America. Also produces her own line of woven jewellery and scarves, which are being sold at the shop of the Textile Museum of Canada. She recently completed the Artists Educators Foundations Course offered by the RCM and the Ontario Arts Council. Active Member of: Canadian Tapestry Network, American Tapestry Alliance, Ontario Crafts Council, Toronto's Arts Council's Neighbourhood Arts Network and Toronto Spinners and Weavers Guild. Included in 2012 in the American Tapestry Alliance’s Educators roster. She was one of the artists representing Canada in the VI International World Textile Art Biennial of Contemporary Textile Art that took place in Mexico in 2011. Participated in Culture Days Ontario 2010, 2011 and 2012 with a workshop called Tapestry for Beginners. Toronto Public Library selected her for exhibiting during July 2012 at the Fairview Library Branch and invited her to exhibit also in 2013 at the Yorkville branch. One of her works will be part of the exhibit “Variegated Threads” as part of the World of Threads Festival 2012 in Oakville Ontario.
