Organic curving forms swirl around a peach background with rippling colours that create a form that seems to move inward into the painting. The purplish shadowing on the lines gives a feeling of depth and introspection, many hours of enjoyment can come for contemplating the peace of this image.
It's a dark painting with a feeling of waiting and organic shapes coming alive. The tones are dark greens and browns in an abstract dark greenish background, lending it to a dusk-like atmosphere. The foreground, which is still very much in shadows, has fungus-like growths in beige and tan that have purplish shadows creating a 3-D impression.

A black pine tree knot. Planted across southern parts of Canada along busy roadways and found in many gardens, black pine can withstand exhaust fumes, neglect, and harsh weather. It also has beautiful bark. This tree stands in North Vancouver and I periodically check up on it as it grows wider and taller.
