I work in found metal, from machinery and tools which was used in the settling of the prairies. These discarded pieces of iron carry all the natural aging you can only get by time under the prairie sky. They are now aesthetic objects resembling the natural world that surrounded all this human activity. The patina retains all the elements of hard work and the scars to prove it. The finish is cleaned and stabilized with a coating and varnished to protect it. Can be left outside or become a conversation piece in a home or office.
This cluster of birch trees in autumn is painted in acrylic on textured washi paper, mounted on a panel and framed. The fibrous paper adds its own textures beyond the paints used.
This monotype (unique, handmade print) is in acrylic paint on watercolour paper. It is matted and behind glass with a pewter coloured metal frame. It captures a river scene along a badlands hillside as the evening mutes the site.
Oil paint and photo on hardboard. The subject matter of my work in the last few years has been clouds and the subtle use of colour variations in their depiction. Clouds in various contexts and forms have been the subject of my paintings for various periods of time over my artistic career.

An abstract photograph was created near Elbow Falls in Kananaskis, Alberta. The Elbow River begins in the Rocky Mountains and flows east, providing the City of Calgary with almost 50% of its drinking water. It then merges with the Bow River. This image is stunning, printed 20x30 inches, using the Chromaluxe process. It is embedded directly into the high gloss metal, making it durable and vibrant. No frame is required, and the image is shipped ready to hang. The image will be printed upon purchase and may require two to three weeks processing and shipping time. It will be shipped from Ontario.
As I age, I see beauty in other things that are also aging. A very dry peony was photographed, and then various techniques were applied, including painting the background. This 16x16 inch canvas print stretched onto 2-inch thick stretcher bars, is shipped ready to hang with a thin black floater frame. The canvas will be ordered after purchase. This may require two to three weeks before you receive the finished canvas. It will be shipped from Ontario.

"Embark on a enchanting journey through Alberta's nature's embrace as you follow a winding path that gracefully meanders through a lush, sun-dappled forest. The trail invites you to step into a world where time slows down, and the symphony of rustling leaves and birdsong serenades your every step. As the path gently curves, revealing glimpses of hidden clearings and babbling brooks, you find yourself surrounded by a kaleidoscope of colors. Wildflowers paint the landscape in hues of soft pinks, vibrant blues, and sunny yellows, creating a carpet that stretches out beneath the towering trees. Sunbeams filter through the canopy, casting a warm and ethereal glow that dances on the path before you."

" In winter, pine trees transform into enchanting sentinels, adorned with a magical allure that captivates the landscape of Alberta. Each bough becomes a sculpted masterpiece, as if nature itself has delicately crafted a winter wonderland. The evergreen needles, now frosted with a dusting of pure white snow, glisten like a myriad of diamonds in the soft, diffused sunlight. In the midst of a snowy landscape, pine trees stand as guardians of a frost-kissed realm, their branches holding the hushed secrets of winter. The magical look of pine trees in winter is a testament to nature's artistry, transforming a familiar evergreen into a scene straight from a fairy tale."
The painting is of an old dock on Île d'Orléans in Québec which is no longer in use and which is slowly falling apart. The scenery was painted with few colors, white included as a color to stress the loss of fresh water, a sligth reminder of our fragile ecosystems.
This painting is of a small island by Vaudreuil, Québec, where the shores are prominents as they are to be protected. White is used as a color for the disappearance of our forests and a slight reminder of our fragile ecosystems.
Spring was here on the Northern Hemisphere, the trees were bursting with buds, magnolias were showing off their delicate colours. Human spirits were awakening to the warmth of the earth. I welcome Mother Nature to its colourful season. On this painting of Yüksel, Art Nouveau meets Pointillism
The pomegranate is revered for the beauty of its tree, flowers, and fruit. It is said that pomegranates were cultivated in Cyprus by Aphrodite herself. The fruit symbolizes the soul's immortality and the perfection of nature, as well as the cycles of life, birth, and renewal. Here Yüksel depicts the creation of the sacred fruit with the help of mythological nymphs.
The balance between black and white and colour along with the tensions created between marks and space are always of interest: Movement and mystery and connection. This piece has a grey archival matte and has a black wooden frame with glass.
Jamming is an improvisation of practice; a trust in your ability to solve the puzzle creatively. In music you must be able to listen and connect with others in order to discover that unique blend of sound made up from the individuals in that moment. It is a practiced ability to be spontaneous which can be found in all Art forms, and which I also strive for in my own work. This piece has a white archival matte and has a black wooden frame with glass.
