'One Black Sheep' is a metaphor; in this painting the black sheep represents the impact of urbanization on agriculture. Protecting our farmlands, soil and groundwater is critical to secure our environmental health and food security. Farmlands are a habitat for wildlife and include wetlands and watersheds which affect our air quality. Sheep play a critical role in improving soil health, using their hooves to mix the manure and soil, thereby helping build organic matter.

This oil painting is inspired by the Three Sisters Mountains near Canmore Alberta. I thought it a bit witty to add add the three sisters into the foreground.
